Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival Information

We’ve received many questions about this year’s Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival. Read on for helpful information if you’re planning to attend.

Where is the festival located?

Clarke County Fairgrounds, 890 West Main Street, Berryville, Virginia 22611. Winchester, VA is the largest nearby city offering accommodations if you're traveling to the area.

When is the festival open?

Classes run from Friday, September 27 thru Sunday, September 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vendor hours are Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, September 29, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Spanish Peacock sticks to the rule of no selling before 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Find us in the Ruritan building, R16/R7 on this map. The Ruritan is the first building when you enter the fairgrounds from the parking lot.

Will spindles sell out?

Spindles have never sold out in previous years. However, with the staggering demand in 2024, we really don’t know what to expect. We will reserve some spindles for Sunday, for folks unable to attend on Saturday.

Is there a limit on how many spindles I can buy?

Currently there is no limit on how many spindles you can buy at one time.

What weather should I prepare for?

All of the above. The Mid-Atlantic in late September is like a moody teen, you never know what you’re going to get.

Are there spaces left in the Peahen’s supported spinning classes?

As of this email, there are still openings in the Sunday afternoon class. Tickets for the class may be purchased at https://www.eventeny.com/events/ticket/?id=7827.

What food options are available for special dietary needs?

A variety of food trucks will be vending, however if you have strict dietary requirements like gluten free or vegan, you may prefer to pack your own lunch.

How big is the festival?

SVFF is a smaller, more intimate show compared to NY State Sheep & Wool, MD Sheep & Wool and other festivals of that kind.  Attendance is normally between 5,500-7,000 people for the entire weekend.
